Brainwave States

Different brainwaves are associated with different states.

Sound, meditation and breathwork can alter brainwaves states.

During sound baths brainwaves will slow down from beta brainwaves (normal alert conscious state) to slower brainwaves and individual can experience altered states of consciousness.

About brainwaves states:

Delta (0.5 - 4 Hz) :
Deep sleep (dreamless), unconscious state. Healing can occur when we are completely unconscious. Restorative sleep.

Theta (4 - 7 Hertz):
Deep meditative state. Open for suggestion, hypnosis, re-programming. Spiritual connection, intuitive guidance and creativity. Body is resting and mind is awake.

Border between Alpha and Theta (7.8 Hertz):
It is believed to be the optimum frequency for healing, in between 2 worlds, altered state of awareness, deeply attuned to the frequency of the Earth.

Alpha (8 -12 Hertz):
Relaxed states of consciousness and light meditation. Creativity, light hypnosis. Bridge between conscious and unconscious. First thing in the morning when we wake up and just before we sleep.
Inner world is more real than the outer world.

Beta (13 - 39 Hertz):
Conscious and awake states. Problem solving, active conversation.
High beta brainwaves (around 20Hz) are associated with stress and anxiety.

Gamma (above 40 Hertz):
Fastest brainwaves. Expanded consciousness, mystical experiences. Can be accesses through specific breathwork and meditation. Super conscious. Release of DMT in the brain.
Researchers have found high gamma brain waves in Tibetan monks.
